Time with my family, walking, gym time, and yummy food.

Visit a dentist on a regular basis for preventative care.

Age 16 – my dentist at the time told me he thought I would be great + would hire me.

Vancouver Community College (Certified Dental Assistant)

6 years.

Enjoying the people.

The outdoors and all the options for summer + winter.

Traveling, skiing, enjoying the outdoors

Wanting to contribute to the betterment of patients overall health.

Algonquin College in Ottawa, Ont.

Helping patients reach their oral health goals.

The weather – being able to play outside 365 days/year

Spending time with family, ie. camping, boating, playing soccer. Watching my kids play soccer & hockey.

I always felt that I should be a healer and I like the preventive potential of dental hygiene.

Facilitating improved oral health & confidence.

It’s a four season playground.

Relax with my dog; catch up with family & friends; actively enjoy the outdoors.
7. Best dental advice for someone you have never met:
Slow down – take your time to brush thoroughly & floss like you’re the boss!

Love helping people, being an assistant allows me to keep busy with a variety of tasks each day which I enjoy

Graduated from Okanagan University College Dental Assisting 1992 to 1993

4. What do you enjoy the best about your job?
What I enjoy best about my job is knowing that I’m helping our patients with their dental needs.
5. What do you enjoy best about living in the Okanagan?
The Okanagan is a four season play ground, there is always an activity to do throughout the year. Boating, skiing, fishing etc.
6. What do you enjoy doing outside of work time?
I enjoy my small hobby farm up in the Belgo area, gardening, horse back riding.
7. Best dental advice for some one you have never met:
Maintain a nice smile. Your mouth is your gateway to being healthy.
1. What made you choose dentistry?
Growing up I had a wonderful dentist who surrounded himself with great people. My dental experiences were always pleasant for me. I am forever grateful that Dr Hill (senior) suggested the field of dental hygiene for me.
2. When and where did you graduate from?
In the mid nineties I graduated from the Dental Assisting Program. Then, in 2000, I graduated from the Dental Hygiene Program in Victoria, British Columbia.
3. How long have you lived in Kelowna?
I was fortunate to be born and raised in Kelowna. I moved to the Lower Mainland for a number of years early in my career, but I couldn’t wait to return to my home!!
4. What do you enjoy the best about your job?
The thing I enjoy most about my profession is being able to help patients lead healthier lives.
5. What do you enjoy best about living in the Okanagan?
The best thing about living in Kelowna is the opportunity to enjoy all four seasons! Everything from hot summers to cool winters – these allow me to enjoy all sorts of outdoor activities.
6. What do you enjoy doing outside of work time?
Outside of work you will find me spending time with my family (including our four-legged member!) We love to spend time outside doing an array of different sporting activities. If you can’t find me on the soccer pitch, I am playing ball, out for a run, skiing at Big White, or inside at the gym. A healthy lifestyle is so important to me.
7. Best dental advice for some one you have never met:
Proper oral hygiene is about more than just clean teeth – it is one of the best (& easiest) ways to help maintain good overall health!
